PURE
NEW BRUNSWICK GRAPE WINES.
New Brunswick's first commercial grape wine was created right here at
Winegarden Estate. Combining traditional skills with the vintner technology
of pressing and fermenting, we married several grape varieties from several
vineyards to produce the first truly New Brunswick Cuvée in 2001.
We now carry several varieties of white, red, rose and sparkling New
Brunswick grape wine. Click

PURE
NEW BRUNSWICK FRUIT WINES.
Made from 100 per cent purely New Brunswick produce, our selection of
fruit wines present a taste for every palate. We believe our success lies in
the personal attention and care afforded to each batch of wine we
create, as well as our family's pursuit of excellence in all we produce.
Each bottle is carefully handled and inspected. We take time and pride in
the making of our wine.
Our fruit wines represent 8 different varieties of New Brunswick-grown fruit. We have
medium dry wines, dessert wines, sparkling fruit wines and Canadian port.

FRUIT LIQUEURS & BITTERS.
Roswitha Rosswog, the only female distiller in
Canada, oversees the creation of all our fruit and herbal liqueurs. Adhering
to carefully guarded family traditions and methods perfected in the Black
Forest region of Germany, she uses native blackberries, currants,
blueberries, pears, cherries, cranberries, raspberries, grapes and apples to create purely a
New Brunswick liqueur for every taste.
We have semi-sweet and sweet versions of liqueur, as well as bitters as a
digestive. Click for details.
EAU-DE-VIE, SCHNAPS & BRANDIES.
An Eau-de-Vie is a pure high-alcohol spirit
made from fermented fruit and grape. Cognac, Calvados and Armagnac
are French examples that you may recognize.
Many North Americans are unfamiliar with the term Eau-de-Vie, however in
Europe, they are very well-known and specialties vary from country to
country. The Scots have their whiskey, the French have cognac, the Greeks
love Ouzo and the Scandinavians prefer their Aquavit.
In Germany, you ask for Schnaps. Schnaps is the generic term for all
spirits that warm and contribute to well-being, no matter whether clear or
coloured, sweet or bitter. In Canada, a schnaps is often sweet, but a true
German variety is clear and strong.
The varieties of Johnny Ziegler Schnaps created here at Winegarden Estate
are a true marriage of German culture and New Brunswick flavour.
